Your Photographer Wants to Hear From You — Here’s Exactly What to Share | Costa Mesa Newborn Photographer

Newborn

As your Costa Mesa newborn photographer, here’s something I want you to know: I actually want to hear from you! Before your session. During it. After you get your gallery.

Most clients hold back because they don’t want to seem like too much.

I get it! But when you tell me what’s really going on (what you’re nervous about, what you’re hoping for) everything gets better!

So here’s exactly what I want you to say, and when to say it :

Before your session: tell me more than you think you need to.

Did your baby sleep terribly last night? Tell me.

Are you feeling self-conscious about how you look right now? Tell me.

Is there something going on with your family I should know about (a toddler who’s having a rough week, a partner who hates being in photos, a grandparent who might need some gentle guidance? Tell me all of it.

None of that is too much.

It all helps me show up ready for you.

The more I know going in, the better I can take care of you, instead of just guessing what you need.

One mom told me before her session that she was incredibly anxious because her baby only slept while being held and cried anytime she was put down. Knowing that ahead of time changed everything, I slowed the pace, built in extra feeding and cuddle breaks, and focused on creating a calm environment so she never felt rushed or stressed.

During your session: please just say something

If something feels off in the middle of your session, say so!

If a pose feels weird and you can’t explain why, just say it feels weird.

You will not hurt my feelings and you will not throw everything off. What actually makes my job harder is when something is wrong and nobody tells me, because then I’m trying to figure it out on my own.

You are not interrupting the session when you speak up. You are making it better!

The best sessions I’ve ever had were the ones where the client just talked to me like a normal person.

I remember one mom stopping me mid-session to say she felt stressed because her baby hadn’t settled yet and she worried we weren’t getting enough photos. That conversation changed the whole energy of the room. I reassured her that this was completely normal, slowed the pace even more, and by the end we captured some of the most beautiful, connected images because she finally relaxed and trusted the process.

After your gallery: your feedback matters as a Costa Mesa Newborn Photographer!

Once you get your gallery- there’s one thing I want to ask.

Tell me!

Something a lot of people don’t know is how much photographers really appreciate a quick “we love the photos!” reply. We spend a lot of time on your gallery and hearing from you means everything!

If you want to take it to the next level: leave a review and tell your friends what it was like to work with me. A short, honest review helps nervous moms feel like they can trust me, and it means more to a small photography business than you probably realize!

The best place is GOOGLE— it takes two minutes and it genuinely helps.

Working with a photographer should feel easy. You hired someone you trust, and part of what makes it work is just talking! I got into this work because I love people and I love capturing real life. The best way you can help me do that is just let me in a little. I cannot wait to work with you!
