Some babies are prayed for. Ezra was prayed all the way here. 🤍
His name carries so much meaning. Ezra comes from the Bible. He led a spiritual reformation. His middle name, Samuel, means “the child we prayed for.” And that is exactly who he is. As a Westminster Newborn Photographer I absolutely loved his name and I hear a lot of names!
This is their fifth baby. You would think by now everything would feel routine. But it does not. His pregnancy was difficult. There were real moments of fear. Their church covered them in prayer and walked with them through it all. And Ezra made it full term. A true miracle.
When it was time to share the news, she kept it simple. She sent a pregnant emoji over text and waited. I can just picture her smiling at her phone as the messages started coming in.
There were cravings too. Donuts. Mexican food. The kind that sends you straight to the drive-thru with zero guilt.
She told me he looks 100% like his dad. No question. Same features. Same little expressions. I love that dad was not even in the room, but his presence was. You could see it in Ezra’s face.
The newborn stage brings a different kind of closeness. The snuggles feel deeper. The moments feel softer. She is savoring it all. The tiny stretches. The way he melts into her chest, the warm weight of him sleeping in her arms.
Ezra’s story started with prayer. It continued with strength. And now it lives in these everyday moments. Rocking. Feeding. Holding him close while the house is quiet.
