Two Major Reasons to Buy Framed Prints From Your Photographer

Newborn

When a client books with me, I try to give them a one-of-a-kind experience.  Part of this experience includes what I call an ordering appointment.  An ordering appointment is set-up about a week after your session and it’s time for us to sit down, scroll through your gorgeous portraits, and have you select an ordering package that fits your needs.

One of my favorite products that client’s order are framed prints.  Framed prints, when displayed correctly, can create beautiful, show stopping gallery walls for all to enjoy.  Or can be given as that perfect one-of-a-kind gift to a new grandparent.

Now you may be wondering, “Why should I order prints through my photographer?”.   Well, that’s a great question and let me tell you my top 2 reasons on why you should order through me!

Quality

The main reason to buy prints through your photographer is quality.  For the most part, professional photographers have what is called a screen caliber.  A screen caliber ensures that the colors you see on your screen/monitor are exactly as they will be on a print.  Which ultimately means there won’t be any surprises when you receive your prints!

Another aspect of quality control is color profiles.  Most people aren’t aware that there are two main types of color profiles: AdobeRBG and sRBG. When photos are viewed online, photographers will usually convert the color profiles to sRBG so that the colors are accurate when being viewed on a screen or monitor.  AdobeRBG has about ⅕ more colors available and printed photos need to be converted to this color profile to ensure they pop with color when printed.  If left in sRBG, colors can appear dull and muted when printed which in turn creates a disappointed client.  When you have your photos printed by me, you can rest assured that your photos will be printed in the right color profile for gorgeous, crisp, clear, pictures.

Delivery

When you order prints from a local print lab such as a Walgreen or Walmart, your prints will usually come in a little envelope that’s sealed with your personal information on the front.  You will then have to purchase frames and put up in your home.  Because you still have extra steps to do (i.e., buy the frames, put the photos in the frame, and hang), a lot of times these printed images will just sit in the envelope you received them in.  Eventually getting dusty in the drawer you throw them in because well, life happens and you run out of time.

However, when you order from me, part of my unique experience is the delivery of the final products.  When your commissioned work comes back from the lab, I look it over to ensure it’s perfect and then I personally deliver it to your doorstep.  I will also put up your new beautiful framed prints, so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy your beautiful images!

When you book a portrait session with a professional photographer, you aren’t just having someone take your photos.  You are looking for a unique, personalized experience.  That experience includes sitting with your photographer, picking out the perfect products for you and your family to commemorate this moment in time.  And you can be sure that if you invest in framed prints, it will be a purchase that you will cherish and appreciate for years to come.
